Happy 2009 Everyone!

I’m starting the new year with a positive outlook!  I hope you all are too!  Christmas this past year was so exciting for me!  I made a few projects for my family members and I was really excited to see their reaction to their presents.

My mom’s side of the family, we all draw names for who buys for who!  Well my sister and I both picked our Uncles.  So we made a 5×7 book of their favorite Nieces and Nephews, and put ALL of their nieces and nephews in it with a current picture and something they remembered about their Uncles.

Here is the book I did!

It was such a joy to see how excited my Uncle was to get his gift!  He said it was one of the best gifts he’s ever had.  That is always good to hear!

For my parents this year, I didn’t create a book, but I did create a 12×12 scrapbook page of my parents family tree.   I used one of the templates in the Heritage Maker template gallery.  Click here to see the page.  Then I put the page in a picture frame so my parents can view it where ever they chose.  I did the same for my in-laws but instead of their family tree, which I didn’t have, I did a picture collage of the family reunion we went to this past year!  Click here to see that page.  Again I used a template for that one too!

My Father-in-law is sometimes pretty hard to buy presents for.  So my mother-in-law and I got together and put together a book for him about his family.  My father-in-law really enjoys things about his family so he loved the book!  I was really glad to be apart of that present.

Due to the economy being as it is, money was tight this year.  I was still able to give presents that weren’t too expensive.  To tell you the truth, I’ve never been so excited to give a present.  I always have issues with not knowing what the person I’m buying for would really enjoy!  I am really grateful for Heritage Makers and the opportunities and blessings I’ve received from being a HM consultant!

Happy New Year Everyone!  Make this one even better than last year!

My Why!

When I started Heritage Makers, I was told that I needed to figure out why I wanted to be apart of Heritage Makers. Finding out my why would help me to accomplish what I set out to do.  Since the beginning, my Why has been to make money.  It still is my why.  But I just back from a HM conference and from that experience I’ve found that I have 2 why’s!  Not only do I want to make money (who doesn’t) but I also want to help people.  I would love to help as many people as I possible can.  How?  I want to help them save their memories!  Over time, memories fade.  When you die (let’s hope not too soon) your memories will be gone.  Unless you share those memories with someone else those memories will be lost.

Do your children know how you met your spouse?  Do they know where you took your spouse on a first date?  Do they know all of fun things you did as a kid.

My Dad

My Dad

I just made a storybook for my dad, and I learned a lot about my dad that I never realized I didn’t know!  Now that the book is made, the whole family can know my dad’s memories.  What a blessing that is!

So my why is to make enough money to get out of debt, and if I’m helping people along the way, I’ll take it as a bonus!

If I can help you please go to my website and contact me.

If you want to help people too you can.  Ask me how!

New Baby Arrival!!!

For anyone who is expecting or just had a baby, cherish the memories of the journey before the baby arrived! When you first found out you were expecting? When you had your first ultrasound? When you found out what you were having? When was the due date? When did the baby arrive?

Create a unique, personalized storybook to show your baby’s journey to loved ones!

Click here for the baby boy sample!

Click here for the baby girl sample!

Cherish your little one forever! They are the most precious things we have! Look out, they grow so fast you won’t have the precious little newborn anymore, you’ll have a toddler, then small child, teenager, young adult, next thing you know they’ll be on their own and you won’t have them anymore!

So love them and cherish them while you have them. Take in every precious moment, and anything you don’t want forgotten write them down. You’ll thank yourself in the future! Or don’t write them down, forget the precious moments, then kick yourself in the future! I think the thanking myself in the future might be a little less painful!

What special person do you admire?

I admire and will always admire my grandmother.

My Grandma

My Grandma

My Grandmother had Multiple Sclerosis. When I was younger I used to help clean my grandparents house because my grandma was restricted to her chair and my grandpa had a bad back. I got to get really close to my grandma during that time. She would tell me stories and she also taught me quite a few things too! She taught me not only by her words but by her actions as well. Even though she could only use her right arm, she did as much as she could. At the beginning she had an electric typewriter, a pencil was strapped to her hand so she could hit the keys. She loved to write things. After the typewriter she moved up to the computer. She had a special keyboard that had a wand to press the buttons. She called her computer Willy. She gave it a name because she would scowled her computer often and it was easier if she had a name to go with the cursing. She had a lovely sense of humor!

The thing that I admired the most about my grandmother was that she always had a good attitude about life. She could have given up when she started losing the use of her body, but she didn’t. She still had her special spirit that allowed her to do many things. She wrote a monthly newspaper for her apartment complex, she would travel, and she would always try to cheer people up. Her Christmas presents to people were things that made you laugh.

She also liked to help if ever she could. She knew one day she would pass away. She told her family she wanted her body to be donated toward finding out more about MS.

She was weak but also so strong. She was strong spirited.

One thing that saddens me, is that my family didn’t get to know her. My grandma died before I started dating my husband. Which means she wasn’t here to see my children also. So to celebrate my Grandma I’m creating a special book that remembers who she was, and what a special woman she was also. I’m hoping that when I’m done, that I can share it with my family and they can see what she meant to me and to others.

If you have someone special like my grandma you would like to celebrate, you can do it too! Click here to go to the online publishing website. Share with others the person you admire! People love to be remembered! Who wants to be forgotten?

Someone hard to buy for?

Is there someone you know who is the worst to buy for. Anything you think of, just isn’t quite right for this person. Not any more! Create a personalized gift, they’ll love it! Especially if it’s from the heart!

You can create a book about Best Friends and how this person is so special to you, all the fun times you have together, any funny stories can be a great addition to your creation!

You have a Grandparent or parent who loves to tell stories! Save all of the stories for generations to come! Don’t let those stories fade with time! Put them together in a storybook for your children to read as a bedtime story!

Any of your kids having a Birthday party coming up? Create a poster with the child’s picture and announcement of Happy 1st Birthday, or Happy Sweet 16 that you can put on the door to greet people as they arrive at the party.

If you have a parent or grandparent that are impossible to buy for, maybe try a roots book (their heritage). Yes you will have to do a little research, but it will be worth it to see your grandparent or parent remember loved ones, and remembering being young! You also won’t have to worry about if they already have it or not. It will be a one of a kind special gift designed and created just by you!

I’m sure your thinking “this is way to difficult to do myself”. Not true! Click Here to sign up for a FREE basic membership so you can get started. Once you have your account, you don’t have to download any software to use the publishing studio. It just takes 3 easy steps: Step 1 – upload your pictures (which are completely protected) Step 2 – Choose the project you would like to create. Step 3 – Start creating!
